Small and medium sized companies make up the largest part of the German economy and are an important innovation driver. Software-based solutions hold an enormous potential to enhance products and to offer new services for these companies. For instance, by extending the product portfolio with a mobile app or the adaption of IT-based approaches in manufacturing. Especially the fast responses to requirements in small and medium-sized companies can provide a competitive advantage over large corporations.
Scope
In particular small and mid-size companies benefit from fast and informal ways of communication.However, organizing and documenting this communication can be a challenge. There is the danger over information overflow and chaotic mail lists.
Requirements
A mobile app should serve as a central channel of internal communication. Therefore, the app should not only provide a chat but also contain a document archive and an e-learning plattform.
Solution
The solution consists out of a hybrid frontend that was deployed as a mobile app for smartphones and a progressive web app that is accessible from browsers. Moreover, there is a scalable backend that manages the data and provides a secure way of processing. Lastly, the app was distributed as an private app via a mobile device management and not via the app stores of the plattforms.
